01Overview

Ozfa ODM is a stable ONVIF device discovery and management tool for Windows workstations in CCTV and network camera environments. It helps technicians find devices, inspect the services they expose, preview supported camera streams and work with supported device settings.

The core technician workflow and hard factory default have been verified on real hardware. Live Preview has not yet been verified on a real camera, so device-changing and hardware-sensitive controls should still be tested on authorized bench devices first. Settings, saved credentials and trusted device certificates are kept when a newer Setup is installed over an existing one.

02Capabilities

  1. ONVIF discovery

Finds ONVIF devices on selected network adapters and listens for device announcements. The device list distinguishes discovery from reachability.

  2. Device inspection

After sign-in, shows available identity, network, time, media, imaging and PTZ information according to what the device supports.

  3. Live camera preview

Plays supported RTSP camera streams inside the app with profile selection, clear playback states, snapshot support and a safe external-player fallback.

  4. Confirmed device actions

Supported controls include time and network settings, user management, PTZ, reboot, soft factory default and hard factory default, with explicit confirmation before changes.

  5. Validation reports

Runs read-only checks and exports a sanitized per-device report for testing and troubleshooting.

Caution

Stable release — hardware validation is still expanding

  • The core technician workflow and hard factory default have been verified on real hardware, but compatibility is not claimed for every brand or model.
  • Live Preview is included in the Stable release but has not yet been verified on a real camera. Features marked Not hardware verified or Experimental in the app should still be tested on bench devices first.

05Known limitations

  • Preview currently has no audio, recording, playback archive, PTZ overlay or multi-camera view.
  • Non-RTSP stream addresses can only be opened externally, and high-resolution streams may use more CPU because Preview decodes in software.
  • The Setup and app are not Authenticode code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn.
